An Haussmann-style flat with character, where mouldings blend tastefully with meticulous contemporary furnishings, in one of the most beautiful areas of Paris.
CHARM AND REFINEMENT
This flat is located on the 4th floor of a magnificent Haussmanian building, in the heart of the highly sought-after 8th district of Paris, a stone's throw from the world's most famous avenue, the Champs Élysées.
With its large volumes, high ceilings and period mouldings, it is the symbol of Parisian elegance, reinvented with a modern touch.
COMPLETE RENOVATION
The flat was completely stripped bare, from floor to ceiling. All the partitions, woodworks and false ceilings were removed to return the apartment to its simplest "raw" structure.
The floor was also completely removed, so as to improve acoustics and insulation.
Extensive design work was then undertaken to completely redesign the flat, making it more balanced and functional, while increasing the number of bedrooms.
A METICULOUS WORK
The painstaking removal work that was carried out led to some wonderful discoveries, including some magnificent period mouldings that had been completely covered up.
Devaran x Philippe Magnin du Sauzey therefore decided to recreate these mouldings identically on the new false technical ceilings, installed to distribute all the project's networks.
To achieve this, the mouldings have all been custom-made, using unique expertise to capture the finesse of each detail and preserve the authentic, historic character of the flat.
LUXURY AND RECEPTION
The entrance to this flat, with its absolutely incredible volumes, is via a comfortable vestibule that leads to the different rooms of the project.
Large bespoke wooden arches give access to the large reception area, comprising a magnificent living room and a beautiful dining room, fitted out with refined, elegant furniture.
The period glass roof, which has been preserved and completely renovated, and the magnificent mouldings add a unique cachet and a soft, pleasant light to this space.
REFINED NIGHT SPACE
The night spaces are divided into 3 very distinct spaces, all communicating with each other while remaining perfectly intimate and independent.
These include a comfortable Master suite, with its own dressing room comprising numerous wooden storage units with custom-made handles, and its own private bathroom.
The polished Calacatta marble and its reflections bring a contemporary touch to the whole, echoing the majestic mouldings in the bedroom, preserving the flat's ancient character while offering the very latest in comfort.
Finally, the drapes and curtains, and the choice of fabrics for the headboard, add a refined, elegant charm to the whole.
